From development to execution: Spotlight on Kingston’s collective impact journey

After launching a year and a half ago, Youth CI is now actively supporting 25 collaboratives through their collective impact journeys. There has been fascinating learning as collaboratives focussed on different issue areas and in different regions face the challenges that come with developing and launching a collective impact initiative.Screen Shot 2016-03-21 at 4.20.33 PM

We are often asked by collaboratives, partners, and other foundations to share case studies of successful initiatives. Everyone is eager to learn from each other so that we can progress as a sector. While most Youth CI collaboratives are still in their planning phase, some Fast Track groups have begun launching key pieces of their Theories of Change. We are excited to share the journey of Ending Youth Homelessness in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (KFLA).

New collaboratives receive funding to reduce social isolation of seniors!

In 2015, Innoweave announced the launch of Seniors SI, in partnership with the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP). Through Seniors SI, Innoweave supports collaboratives of organizations across Canada to generate, implement, and scale socially innovative community level approaches to reduce the social isolation of seniors.

Throughout 2015 Innoweave and the Government of Canada worked to help communities prepare and submit plans for generating this change for seniors. Over the past month, the Government of Canada has announced several collaboratives that have received funding to implement their community-level plans. Innoweave is excited to continue working with these collaboratives to achieve their intended impact and benefit seniors in their communities across Canada.

How do you know if you are ready for Innoweave Coaching?

By: Lynn Fergusson

So you’re thinking of applying for an Innoweave program. Great idea! Though perhaps you’re feeling a little unsure of what you’d be getting into.  As an Innoweave coach in both Collective Impact (CI) and the Impact & Strategic Clarity (I&SC) programs, I wanted to share a bit from my experience and words of wisdom from clients, to help you check for fit and prepare you to get the most out of the opportunity.

First off, no matter the program, Innoweave has come to realize that being clear and aligned about specifically what it is you are trying to achieve (your intended impact), and how you will go about doing it (your Theory of Change), are critical to increasing your impact and overall success. The CI and I&SC programs address this directly, so I’m going to focus this article on those areas, but feel free to reach out to a coach directly to think through your readiness before applying for any program.
