Catherine has worked in management and consulting with co-operatives and social economy organizations for over 30 years. Through her consulting and coaching practice she engages NGO’s, funders, academics, networks, local governments and emerging community groups in social entrepreneurship, partnership development, evaluation, program design, and knowledge creation.
Catherine is an editor of the Canadian Social Enterprise Guide. She co-founded the Rural Social Enterprise Constellation (RSEC) and co-authored papers focused on rural social enterprise development and policy in Ontario. She has coached and mentored numerous social enterprises through Innoweave, the Henry Bernick Centre at Georgian College, and the Toronto Enterprise Fund. She is currently an advisor to the Centre for Change Making and Social Innovation at Georgian College and The Co-operators Foundation.
As a seasoned facilitator, presenter, and adult educator, Catherine has offered workshops and webinars on co-ops, social enterprise, non-profit sustainability, and collaboration. She has written tools and guides, including: Innovation Pathways: Tools for Rural & Northern Community Innovation; Strengthening Collaboration in the Not-for-Profit Sector (Ontario Trillium Foundation); and an online platform for nonprofit collaboration called Collaboration Coach.
Catherine holds a Masters degree in Adult Education as well as a BA in Sociology and Philosophy and a Bachelor of Social Work.
