Biography

Passionate about helping those who help others. Privileged to support social profit organizations in Western Canada make an even bigger dent in the universe.

Matt combines his extensive HR background, his efforts in the non-profit sector, and his human-centric world view to help strengthen organizations that are out to make a positive change in the world.

Since 2017 with his boutique consulting firm Human Elements Canada Ltd.,  he has been helping organizations across Western Canada tackle an ever-changing landscape through the following lenses:
* Strategic Planning
* Design Thinking
* Social Enterprise
* Workplace Culture
* Partnership Brokering
* Mediation

Matt’s approach is (surprise!) all about the human elements of an organization, and he is unapologetic about centring people around his work.

A graduate of the Leadership Wood Buffalo program, founder and former Chair of TEDxFortMcMurray, and United Way Community Investment Committee member, Matt loves making in impact in the community he calls home. Currently Matt sits on the board for Community Mediation Calgary Services (providing free mediation services to community members), the TEDxCalgary organizing committee, and the Basic Income Calgary working group.

In partnership with the Institute for Community Prosperity at Mount Royal University, Matt launched “Disrupting Good”, a podcast project that asks social leaders across Canada how doing good will change in response to the unprecedented disruptive technologies, cultural movements, and crises that face humanity.
