Biography

Gave is an experienced executive, lawyer, board director, and strategic advisor within the media, arts, and cultural sector. Over the past twelve years, Gave has helped finance, develop, or launch over 100 media and arts based social enterprises.

With an exclusive focus on the cultural sector, Gave works with nonprofits, charities, and social entrepreneurs who are committed to tackling pressing societal issues through media and art.

He helps arts and media organizations:
-Leverage strategic partnerships to generate new revenue streams;
-Develop and test sustainable business models that are complementary to an organization’s core strengths;
-Engage Gen Z & Gen Y audiences/donors; and
-Become ready to access and leverage Social Finance Funds.

Gave has served as a board director for over fifteen organizations including NOW Magazine, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Obsidian Theatre Company, ArtsSmarts, Laidlaw Foundation, Ontario Media Development Corporation (Ontario Creates), CSI’s Solutions Media Accelerator, SMI Foundation, UofT Munk School of Public Policy’s PGI, and Blackandblue Dance.

He is a frequent speaker on the intersections of media and social innovation and has been featured in outlets including The Today Show, Deadline, Variety, Playback, and SHARP Magazine. He holds BA, MBA, and JD degrees from the University of Toronto.
