Biography

I support groups across Canada to improve and expand their work. My goal is to ensure that clients’ strategy and implementation have the best chance of success by being relevant to communities, inclusive, and grounded in the realities of the system and the changing external environment. I draw on 20 years in nonprofits, during which I have been responsible for nearly every function within an organization: evaluation, project development, communications, outreach, partnerships, fundraising, team management, and strategic planning.

In each coaching and consulting mandate, I ask good questions, help gather and look at information in a new way, and harness the knowledge, intuition and creativity in your organization so that you become clear on your next steps and move forward. I bring issue-specific knowledge in the following areas (and am always happy to learn about new spheres): environment, food security, youth development, leadership, civic engagement, gender equity, LGBTQ rights, health, education, literacy, reconciliation, community development. Most of my consulting mandates are with grantmaking foundations, Indigenous-led organizations, and social change-focused initiatives. I hold a Masters in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership.

Current and past clients know me for my:

  • Clear communication.
  • Enthusiasm for their vision.
  • Thorough research.
  • Depth of understanding.
  • Social justice values.
  • Creative, organized and grounded strategy development.
  • Responsiveness to client needs and shifting environments.

I am happy to discuss the needs of your initiative.
