Melek De-Wint

Biography

Melek is an independent impact measurement and management (IMM) consultant based out of Québec City, with a passion for working alongside social purpose organizations (SPOs) worldwide. With over two decades of leadership experience in non-profit management, particularly within the youth development sector, she brings a wealth of strategic insight and hands-on expertise to my clients.

Melek’s IMM journey began in 2013 at The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, where she crafted an impact measurement framework showcasing the global impact of their youth development program. More recently, at Digital Moment, she drove impact initiatives for accessible digital skills development opportunities for kids and young people in Canada, leading the development of theories of change and an impact measurement framework.

Since 2020, Melek has been providing impact measurement coaching through the McConnell Foundation’s Innoweave initiative, benefiting Canadian non-profits. Actively engaged in impactful board roles, including on the Board of Directors for Canada’s Common Approach to Impact Measurement and Turkey’s Etkiyap impact investing platform, she is dedicated to fostering positive change on a global scale. She is also an active member of the IMM Working Group of Canada Forum for Impact Investment and Development (CAFIID) and Social Value Canada.

With credentials including being trained as a Social Return on Investment (SROI) practitioner by Social Value UK, and as an alumna of Oxford Impact Measurement Programme and Oxford Impact Investing Programme, Melek brings a solid foundation of knowledge to every project. Certified as a strategic foresight practitioner by the Futures School, she is enthusiastic about exploring the synergies between strategic foresight and IMM, seeking new ways to drive even greater impact for social purpose organizations. As an Accredited Trainer for SDG Impact Standards, she is passionate about promoting the transformational power of embedding sustainability, contributing positively to SDGs and managing for impact at the core of the internal management and decision-making practices of businesses and investors and supporting them in this journey.
