Youth CI Update

April 30, 2015

In December, Innoweave launched Youth CI in partnership with the Laidlaw Foundation and the Government of Ontario. Youth CI helps communities across Ontario learn about, develop, launch, and implement Collective Impact initiatives that directly improve outcomes for youth.

After a winter of workshops, a first cohort of Youth CI is full steam ahead, working with 19 collaboratives set to begin their Development Coaching services in May. As the next phase of support for Cohort 1, Youth CI Coaches will work one-on-one with groups to advance their specific Collective Impact objectives leading up to Workshop 2 in November. The goal of the Development Coaching process is to provide a tailored approach to help each collaborative build the unique aspects of their strategy; for example while some groups are refining their intended impact objectives, others are working on their immediate actions plans or stakeholder engagement strategies. We look forward to seeing these collaboratives progress!

We’re also excited to launch a second cohort of Youth CI beginning with a series of upcoming Youth CI Info-sessions in June (visit our Events page to learn more about specific dates and locations). To be as prepared as possible to participate in the next Youth CI cohort, we invite interested collaboratives and organizations to attend our national Introduction to Collective Impact webinar, taking place on May 21st at 1:00pm ET. Groups thinking about using the Collective Impact framework to achieve community-level outcomes will gain greater clarity on key questions such as “Is Collective Impact the right approach for us?” Register here to join!

A small Fast Track cohort of Youth CI groups dove into Youth CI Planning Coaching in January. To date, our Fast Track groups have made great strides working with their coaches and will be receiving launch or execution grants to implement their Collective Impact initiatives over the coming year.
