Biography

Ken Kolb leads Phillips Douglas Consulting, which assists social enterprises and not-for-profit organizations in building sustainable business and finance models, while focusing on social outcomes.

Ken has over 20 years of government experience and several years experience in assisting community based organizations.

Most recently, Ken led and participated in the development of Canada’s first government backed Social Impact Bond – Sweet Dreams. His work also includes social enterprise development and alternative funding models for not-for-profit organizations.

Ken is knowledgeable in the areas of governance, strategy development, feasibility studies, financial modelling, social enterprise development and not-for-profit organizational sustainability.

He is passionate about the opportunity social finance and social innovation creates for organizations dedicated to assisting society’s most vulnerable.

Ken holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration and has a BA in Political Science.
