Biographie

Since 1995, Eko Nomos has worked to build sustainable livelihoods with marginalized populations in communities in Ontario, and across Canada. Our practice is informed by a commitment to building social and economic justice in local economies, and using participatory methods to build consensus on community priorities.

Eko Nomos’ partners are a mother/son team.

Mary Ferguson PhD (Senior Partner) founded Eko Nomos for research and social change leading to the economic participation of marginalized populations. Mary received her PhD from the University of Guelph’s School of Environmental Design and Rural Development in 2018.

Emmett Ferguson MA is a managing partner of Eko Nomos and works in a variety of roles: researcher, writer and editor, evaluator and facilitator. Emmett volunteers as Co-Chair of Local Food and Farm Co-operatives Inc.

Recently Eko Nomos has been working on projects related to social enterprises for women survivors of domestic violence, in rural settings, with municipalities, and co-ops.

We provide robust evaluation services through capacity building support to organizations to develop their theory of change, logic models, evaluation frameworks, data collection tools and systems.

We work to develop support the self-determination of indigenous populations, substance users, people with mental illness and women survivors of abuse.
