Matt Hessey has founded Hessey Consulting + Architecture in 2019 to provide consulting services for Social Purpose Real Estate projects. Hessey is intended to act as a bridge between purpose-driven organizations (often non-profits) and the design and construction industries, navigating the often-difficult road to occupying space. Our mission is to create a more equitable and diverse civic environment in British Columbia by unlocking the impact of purpose-driven organizations.
Hessey Consulting + Architecture primarily offers project management services and is not a full-service architectural firm. Our experience is in the detail of how projects are developed and how risk is managed. Our creativity, care, and experience guide projects through development, design, and construction. We work to create and sustain the conditions for positive impact depending on the diverse needs of each project.
Matt Hessey is a registered Architect in BC with over 15 years of experience in practice throughout western Canada, including the design, approval, construction administration, and project management of over 75 projects since 2003.
Matt currently volunteers as board member, facility redevelopment project management committee member, and Indigenous advisory circle member of Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House. He also participates in the Exchange Inner City’s Community Benefit Network (CBN) working group.
