Biographie

Serial social entrepreneur, social innovation and social finance expert, award-winning social enterprise scholar, and seasoned for-profit and not-for-profit executive.

Richard Tuck is a serial entrepreneur, social entrepreneur, and seasoned for-profit and not-for-profit executive. Over the last 20 years, Richard has started or helped start more than 150 organizations – from environmental non-profits to mom and pop shops to multi-million dollar tech companies – across Canada, the US, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Chile, and in Europe. Over the past 10 years, Richard’s focus has been on social entrepreneurship and innovation as he searches to create more and more positive impacts on his community and around the globe. He’s an award-winning scholar on the topic of social enterprise and, most recently, has developed the Indigenous Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation programs at Red River College. With a Master’s in Corporate Finance, and a specialization in dual return social funds, Richard looks at new social enterprises or ventures with a finance lens that can blend social finance tools with the new financing advancements in recent years and long-standing dominant finance theory.
